Maureen Bharoocha is currently a segment director for ABC’s JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!

Maureen is a Los Angeles based director and writer whose projects are as diverse as her background. Hailing from a mixed family of Irish Catholic and Indian-Pakistani Burmese Muslim heritage, Maureen is an American medley with a new perspective on exploring individual identity. Her signature style heightens beautiful images with dark realism creating a unique world for her curious, unusual characters to navigate.

Previously, Maureen directed a short film, AbajeeAbajee, which filmed on location in the streets Karachi, Pakistan, and was screened at the Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, and Hampton’s International Film Festivals.

Maureen also wrote and directed a short film series for Sprinkles Cupcakes and has directed original content for Comedy Central, College Humor, Funny or Die and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.

Maureen's first feature film Fatal Flip, a physiological thriller, was released on Lifetime and her 2nd feature I Am Watching You premiered at the Napa Valley Film Festival. She is developing features based on her short films: Movie Mind Machine starring Ron Funches and Matt Braunger and Hairpin Bender starring comedians Lauren Lapkus, Nicole Byer, Mary Holland, and Aparna Nancherla.  Maureen is also developing a sitcom with her brother, comedian Ahmed Bharoocha.

Maureen has an MFA from Boston University and strives to live by her motto: MAKE COOL SHIT!
